Qualifies for National Merit Scholarship program

Roland-Story junior Teagan Johnson has met the qualifications to enter into the National Merit Scholarship Program. With a qualifying selection index score of 209 (or above), she has shown outstanding academic potential. From approximately 1.5 million program entrants, Teagan is among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants who will be recognized in the fall. She is the daughter of Jeff and Rhonda Johnson of Story City.

From the 50,000 high scorers, about 16,000 will be named National Merit Program Semifinalists, representing the top scorers in each state, and approximately 34,000 others will be commended for their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.

Semifinalists and Commended students in the 2017 National Merit Program will learn of their standing in September. Semifinalists will be the only students who will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for about 7,400 National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2017.
