Roland-Story FFA members attend state convention

Twenty Roland-Story FFA members recently participated in the 2016 State FFA Convention in Ames.

Chapter members competed in the following activities and events: Angela Harestad and Kaitlyn Strobl were chapter delegates; Hanna Henderson, Jacob Sterle, Max Halstead and Zachary Taylor competed in the Ag Biotechnology contest and earned a Silver rating, finishing as the 16th place team in the state; Will McGraw, Will Halstead, Jacob Sterle and Brayden Lester competed in the Farm Business Management contest and earned a Gold rating, finishing as the 22th place team in the state; Ben Chelsvig and Kade Faga competed in the Greenhand Quiz general knowledge contest, where they earned a Bronze rating; Allison Wuebker, Kyauna Abele, Kat Hawley and Matthew Hougland competed in the Poultry Judging contest and earned a Silver rating, finishing as the 16th place team in the state; Zachary Taylor competed in the Chapter Display contest and earned a Gold rating; Grant Berends and Riley Wilgenbusch were a part of the State FFA Chorus; and Jacob Sterle accepted the third place grant award from the organization Nutrients for Life.

Two Roland-Story members were also awarded their Iowa FFA Degree. They were Brayden Lester and Jacob Sterle.
