Essence of Time
Observe for a moment the blue skies above,
The cotton-ball clouds floating by,
The whisper of wind sifting ‘round in your hair,
The kite climbing ever so high.
Hear the honk of the geese, the croak of the frog,
Scan the babbling brook, the toad in the bog.
Drink in happy laughter of children at play.
Grasp the cry of the loon, in solace of gray.
Greet the splashes of color in flowers so fair,
The aroma of lilacs permeating the air.
Immerse yourself soon in such splendid array,
For the essence of time steals swiftly away.
