Receive degrees from Wartburg College

Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 331 students during Spring Commencement held Sunday, May 22. Among the graduates were; Kayla Nielsen of Roland, who graduated with a degree in Biology, and is the daughter of Dennis & Lynn Nielsen, and Elizabeth Pflibsen of Story City, who graduated with a degree in Neuroscience and German. She is the daughter of Rev. Troy & Rev. Carolyn Pflibsen.

Another 41 students are expected to graduate in August. Thirty-five members of the Class of 2016 graduated in December.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal arts college recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,537 students. Wartburg is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and named after the castle in Germany where Martin Luther took refuge disguised as a knight during the stormy days of the Reformation while translating the Bible from Greek into German.
