Story City Chamber Director Aaron Lott has resigned his position, effective November 14, 2013. His last full day of work in the Greater Chamber Connection office was Friday, Nov. 14. He planned to use his last two weeks of vacation beginning Nov. 15. Lott has been with the chamber for the past three years.

“Thank you for all your time and dedication to the GCC,” Lott wrote in his letter to the GCC Board of Directors. “I greatly appreciate the sacrifice that each of you has given to make this a strong civic organization. It has been an honor for me to have had the opportunity to serve this organization and the incredible mission that it represents.”

The GCC Board of Directors is now working on developing a new job description and will also implement some changes in the operation of the chamber office. In the meantime, an interim replacement will be hired while the board decides what direction they want to go. A search committee will be formed that will include community members, as well as various board members. In the meantime, the chamber office will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays all day and will have limited hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“We will miss Aaron and appreciate all the time and hard work that he put in for the good of Story City and the GCC,” said Marian Olive, GCC Board President. “Hope for patience and volunteers (to come forward) as we go through this transition.”
