Bethany Life receives $500,000 from Foundation

On June 30, 2014, exactly 100 years from the day Bethany Life officially opened its doors, the Bethany Life Foundation granted the organization $500,000 in support of the Building Tomorrow Campaign. Betsy Warburton, President and CEO of Bethany Life commented that, “These initial funds from the Foundation were critically important in assuring that the entire initiative was able to move forward in a timely manner. We are extremely grateful to our donors and supporters of the Building Tomorrow Campaign”

The Building Tomorrow Campaign is supporting the $17 million construction project at Bethany Manor in Story City, IA, which will bring two new “households” serving individuals who need rehabilitation and extended care; redesign and renovation to the section of Bethany Manor built in 1977; plus a “main street” which will include a library, gift shop, bistro, wellness center, salon/spa, and much more. “The outcome of this project will place Bethany Life in a very competitive position in assuring that the organization will remain viable for generations,” said Gary Hested, Bethany Life Board President. “We are very excited about the design and look forward to celebrating this new era for Bethany Life.”

The Building Tomorrow Campaign’s total goal is $750,000. Larry Elphic, VP of Resource Development said that, “We are not done with this campaign. We continue to need the community to step forward in assuring that in eighteen months the project will be completed. I can assure that all involved will be very proud of their contribution.”
