ROLAND LEGION TENDERLOIN DINNER

The Roland American Legion will host a Pork Tenderloin Dinner on Friday, October 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the legion hall. Menu includes pork tenderloin sandwich, baked beans, ap0ple sauce and chips. Cost is $8.00/person. Carry outs available.

STORY CITY AMERICAN LEGION KUMLA FEED

The Story City Sons of the American Legion will host an All-You-Can Eat Kumla Feed on Saturday, October 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the legion hall. An $8.00 free will donation is recommended.

ROLAND-STORY CAN/BOTTLE DRIVE

Support our middle school and elementary school field trips!! Volunteers will be going door to door in Story City on Saturday morning October 18th collecting your refundable cans and bottles. Please leave your donation at the curb by 8:00 a.m. OR you can DROP OFF your donation at the corner of Broad Street and Elm Avenue from October 15th thru October 18th by 11:00 a.m. The Roland-Story PTO thanks you for your support!

SONS OF NORWAY MEETING

The Sons of Norway Kong Sverre event on Monday, October 13, at the Community Center, 503 Elm Avenue, Story City, will be “Women’s Suffrage in Norway.” The program will be presented by Margaret Townsend, Jan Hereid, Julie Goldman, Sue Givant, and Marie Quanbeck from Marsteinen Lodge in Des Moines. Social time is 6:00 p.m. with a catered dinner at 6:30 p.m. Guests are welcome. Members are $5 and guests are $10. MACKEY METHODIST CHURCH BAZAAR

The Mackey Methodist Church Bazaar will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 130th Street and V Avenue. Enjoy a chicken and noodle dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. with an auction at 7:30 p.m. Cost: Adults - $9.50; Children 2 to 6 - $3.50; Children under 2 are free.

BETHESDA SCANDINAVIAN COFFEE

The 58th Annual Bethesda Lutheran Church Scandinavian Coffee will be held Friday, October 10, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1517 Northwestern Avenue in Ames. A bake sale and gift shop will also be held. A free will donation is gladly appreciated. Supplemental funds provided by the Story County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

MCFARLAND CLINIC FLU VACCINATIONS

It’s Flu Season again! McFarland Clinic in Story City is now offering flu vaccinations every Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 4:30 p.m., until the end of the year (by appointment only). Please call 733-5191 to schedule your appointment. All vaccinations will be turned into your insurance company, and most companies will cover the cost of the vaccine.
