Legislative Forum to be held

The November elections are over and Story County legislators are gearing up for the 2015 Iowa legislative session. Bethany Life and our trade association LeadingAge Iowa have teamed up to host a legislative forum to hear about issues of interest to seniors on Friday, Dec. 19 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Timberland Village in Story City.

Senator Herman Quirmbach is a Professor of Economics at Iowa State University. He has chaired the General Assembly’s Education Committee; and served on the Human Resources, Judiciary, Local Government and Ways and Means committees and the Education Appropriations Subcommittee. He will be serving his fourth term in the Senate.

Representative Dave Deyoe has served on the Agriculture, Appropriations, Economic Growth and Environmental Protection committees and has chaired the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee. He will be serving his fifth term in the House.

Representative Lisa Heddens has served on the Appropriations, Economic Growth and Human Resources committees and was Ranking Member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations subcommittee. She will be serving her seventh term in the House.

Representative Beth Wessle-Kroeschell has served on the Environmental Protection, Judiciary and was Ranking Member of the Human Resources Committee; and is on the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee. She will be serving her sixth term in the House.
