Tour of Homes enjoys near record turnout

The 2014 Story City Yulefest Tour of Homes is in the books, and a near-record crowd turned out on a nice, non-snowy weekend, December 6 and 7. Over 450 tickets were sold, which made for a very successful tour this year.

Homes featured included Rocke and Angela Rahfeldt’s home at 1109 Pennsylvania Avenue, which was sponsored by the Hook & Eye Questers. Steve and Miriam Skartvedt’s home was sponsored by P.E.O. Chapter FZ and is located at 1039 Eighth Street. And Chuck and Semler Semler’s residence at 319 Grand Avenue was sponsored by Praeri Rail Trail Questers.

The Barlett Museum and Carriage House was also open during the tour, serving complimentary refreshments and offering a scavenger hunt within the confines of the museum. The Story City Historical Society hosted the museum open house.

All proceeds from the Tour of Homes went toward various community projects in Story City.

The photos were submitted by members of the Tour of Homes Committee, including Deb Olson, Sandy Jacobson and Cheryl Semler.
