Story City Farmer’s Market

The Story City Farmer’s Market is being held every Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. from now until October 11. Located on Park Avenue, south of Broad near the Kum & Go convenience, be sure to stop by and check out Story City’s latest downtown feature. Help add color to downtown Story City and raise money for downtown beautifcation! Purchase your $10 2’x2’ canvas during the months of June and July, and paint,stencil, or decorate them however you like. Return them to the GCC office so that they can be displayed during the month of August and vote for your favorites. Boards are on sale now, return boards by August 12. Municipal Electric Utility Board Meeting

The Board of Trustees of the Story City Municipal Electric Utility will hold their next regular board meeting on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the board room at the light plant, 505 Market Avenue.

Story City Herald Office Closed

The Story City Herald Office, formerly located at 511 Broad Street, is now closed. Operations were recently moved to the Ames Tribune in Ames. The Herald will continue uninterrupted and published on Wednesdays. All correspondence should now be mailed to the Story City Herald, PO Box 380, Ames, IA 50010-0380. Story City Legion Sweet Corn Feeds

The Story City American Legion Post #59 will begin their sweet corn feeds on Monday, July 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will continue on July 25 and August 1. Menu includes grilled hamburger or hot dog, sweet corn, fresh cucumber salad and tomatoes. Cost is $7/plate. The public is welcome.
