Roland-Story FFA wins district contest

Roland-Story FFA members recently competed in the 2016 North Central FFA District Livestock Judging contest in Hampton. The contest is sponsored by the North Central FFA District officers and is hosted by the Franklin County Fair.

The contest involved live animal evaluation over the classes of market beef, breeding beef, market swine, breeding swine, market lambs, and breeding sheep.

Livestock evaluation tests the student’s ability to problem-solve and make decisions of animal usage based upon industry standards. Contestants were also required to present oral reasons defending their selections to contest judges who represented the swine, beef and sheep industry’s.

The Roland-Story team finished first in the District out of 45 FFA Chapters.
