Roland-Story LTS 4H Club participates in Story County Fair

By Sam Braucher, LTS 4H Club

Since March of this year, our 4-H club was not able to have in-person meetings due to COVID-19. We were able to do some online meetings to discuss the projects we were working on and what the county fair might look like.

Even though we were quarantined this spring, many of our members still participated and created projects and worked with their livestock.

The county fair still took place but was not open to the public. Our club supplied the fairgrounds with hand sanitizing stations to place in various places.

We had many state qualifying, state alternate selections and top awards in the static project and communication category.

Thank you to ACT Insurance Agency in Story City for displaying these projects. Our club also brought home numerous champion and reserve champion trophies as well as purple and blue ribbons.

Even though things looked different this year, our club still had a very successful county fair! We are looking forward to getting back together in person this fall to start planning some community service projects.
