Free meals are being provided to all Roland-Story students, thanks to the school district's participation in a USDA program.

"The USDA has issued nationwide waivers which allow school districts and community organizations to extend the operation of the Summer Food Service Program into the current school year through December 31, 2020, or until available funding runs out," stated a news release from the Department of Education.

Roland-Story participated in the program this summer, "which will allow for a safe and streamlined service of nutritious meals," the release stated.

"Together with the USDA, we are excited to offer this opportunity to Roland-Story students," said Superintendent Matt Patton. "We hope that it provides a little financial relief for our families during this challenging time.”

All children enrolled at Roland-Story, whether they are in-person learners or remote learners, can receive free meals.

For students attending school in person, meals will be provided at the following locations and times:

  • Roland-Story Elementary School – Breakfast, 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.; Lunch, 11:20 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
