The Roland Public Library is located at 221 N. Main St. in Roland.

Spring has sprung and that means it is time to get out of the house! Maybe it is time for you to venture out to the Roland Library in April for one of our programs! We will continue to offer our regularly scheduled programs, will add a Youth Gardening Club, and host two special guest programs.

Our regularly scheduled programs are as follows:

  • Tuesdays between 3:30-5 p.m. is a drop in K-4th crafting time.
  • Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. is Early Childhood Literacy Time.
  • Wednesdays between 1:30-3 p.m. is a drop in 5th and up activity time.

Roland Library will be partnering with ISU Extension to offer a weekly Youth Gardening Club. This will begin on Thursday, April 15, at 1:30 p.m. On June 3, we will switch the time to 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays and run through the end of July. ISU Extension will prepare lessons which will extend to gardening opportunities in the library garden. This program is geared toward school aged youth.

To celebrate Earth Day, the Roland-Story FCCLA chapter will be leading an action packed program on Wednesday, April 21, from 1:30-3 p.m. They have a wonderful lineup of books to present and projects for the kids to do! We look forward to this lovely opportunity to connect our high-schoolers with our younger community youth. You won’t want to miss out on this program! Please pre-register by calling the library at 515-388-4086 or email melissataylorwebb@gmail.com.
