25 new COVID-19 virus cases reported in Story County; No new deaths reported

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Iowa Department of Public Health was reporting an additional 25 confirmed COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Story County.

The latest data as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, compared to 10 a.m. Tuesday:

  • Confirmed cases: 10,186, an increase of 25 
  • Deaths: 47, an increase of 0 
  • Total tested: 154,730 
  • Total recovered: 9,656 
  • Countywide 14-day positivity rate: 5.4%

With the expansion of priority groups in Iowa, more people are eligible to get COVID-19 vaccinations, including all Iowans age 65 or older — an age demographic most vulnerable to serious COVID-19 illness and death — and people in certain professions. 

  • Vaccine doses administered: 50,102
  • Individuals receiving first dose: 10,964
  • Individuals receiving second dose: 19,430*
  • Individuals received single-dose series: 411
