Elementary School celebrates Career Day

Some of the students at the elementary school have been learning about various jobs during Career Days this spring. Fifty people in myriad professions visited the school and told the kids about their jobs. Students are learning what career path these jobs are in.

Generally, the presentations were 15 minutes long with exceptions for things like a visit from a Life Flight helicopter pilot.

“They talked about what the Life Flight does, what a pilot does, what the helicopter does, how to be a helicopter pilot, things he has to do to fly it,” said elementary school counselor Kathy Gabrielson, who has organized the event for the past 29 years and is retiring this year. “Understanding weather is important, what the nurses do on the flight, what classes to take to do this job. Kyle Jensen was the helicopter pilot who presented.”
