United Way of Story County showed its appreciation to the Central Iowa Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Friendship Ark Homes volunteers by hosting a soup luncheon on April 5. Jean Kresse, president and CEO of UWSC, and Deb Fennelly, 2018 UWSC campaign co-chair, expressed gratitude to the volunteers.

“United Way of Story County counts on volunteers to help with office responsibilities, complete campaign mailing projects and verify data,” said Kresse. “We’re then able to focus staff efforts on other projects and accomplish so much more than we could alone.”

Kresse reported 21 volunteers gave a total of 605 hours of time to UWSC for 2017. The monetary value of the volunteer efforts totaled almost $14,000, which can instead go toward helping the community.

RSVP staff Kalen Petersen, Arti Sanghi and Lori Williams attended and thanked the volunteers for their many hours of work. Fennelly also expressed her appreciation for everything the volunteers have done and what they will continue to do for the campaign this year.
