Roland-Story LTS 4-H club has busy spring

Recently, the Roland-Story LTS 4-H group has had a few different projects. We learned self-defense from Officer Rhoad at the April meeting. We got to practice punches and kicks on large bags that adults held onto. Officer Rhoad put some body gear on and we got to just destroy him. It was awesome. We were going to learn how to escape from a car, but it was snowing and slippery so we didn’t do it. Hopefully next time!

At our May meeting, we made May baskets for the residents at Bethany Manor. We decorated the baskets, filled them with popcorn and candy, and then delivered them to all of the residents to wish them a happy May Day. After we were done, members of the 4H group also went to the elementry and middle school to write messages to the teachers for Teacher Appreication Week.

These next few weeks we will be busy working on projects and filling in our record books to take to the Story County fair. The fair is July 21-25, so come see all the awesome projects we are working on!
