United Way of Story County announces major grant

United Way of Story County has a major Community Impact Grant opportunity for agencies to apply for in the coming weeks.

Any agencies that have an opportunity they believe fits the UWSC mission are able to fill out a letter of intent form on the UWSC website before Friday, Feb. 22.

Allie Prusa, marketing director at UWSC, said that the purpose of the grant is to help support projects that are human service focused, in the areas of health, education and financial stability.

“That is the whole mission of our organization here at United Way,” Prusa said.

Any agencies that submit proposals need to fully address their outcomes and show UWSC how they plan on obtaining long-term funding. All agencies that submit an application that fits the goal of UWSC will be notified on March 8, and from there, they will be able to fill out a full grant application.

The grant applications will then be reviewed by the UWSC Allocations Committee, and the UWSC Board of Directors will make a final decision about which agencies will receive the available grants during their May board meeting.

Grant amounts will start at $7,500, and all agencies, even if they are not partner agencies of UWSC, are able to apply for the grant, Prusa said.
