We here at the Chamber are proud to declare the Duck Race as a huge success! Make sure to check out a couple of the photos from that evening on our Facebook page.

Our July was a very busy one, but a successful one, but just because we made it through doesn’t mean we can let our guard down. We are just as busy as ever at the office. Next weekend we will be at the Iowa State Fair in the Varied Industries Building. We have a booth for one day, on Saturday the 16th to try and attract as many fairgoers to Story City as we can. Make sure to check us out!

Looking forward we have the Annual Progressive Dinner coming up on August 20th, which promises to be fun as always. Tickets are on sale now both online at www.storycity.net and at the GCC Office.

We are also beginning the process of finding our new Assistant Director. We are looking to bring on someone full time who can help us continue the efforts of our office. Anyone who might be interested is encouraged to email me at director@storycitygcc.com and request the full job description.

Finally, we are looking for help for the end of the Carousel season. It’s a part time, hourly position, just to help us close down the Carousel for the season. It’s a very busy August to round out the summer, but always exciting.
