Children and Families of Iowa benefit from SCCF grant

Jessica Tendall (right), supervisor of the in-home caseworkers for Children and Families of Iowa (CFI), shows Story County Community Foundation (SCCF) Advisory Board Chair Chuck Glatz how tablet computers can now be used to provide information to clients during in-home visits. The tablets were purchased with a 2015 Community Grant from SCCF. CFI typically serves 30 families in Story County at any one time. Their visits aim to help clients determine how to cope with family issues and find the resources for longer-term solutions. A typical visit might include providing parenting information and demonstrating on the tablet how such information and other resources can be found by the client using their own cell phone.
