Royals sweep Blue Devils for first victory: C-N falls at Dunkerton

DUNKERTON - The Colo-NESCO volleyball team had a rough night on the road against Dunkerton Sept. 3.

The Royals were swept by scores of 25-16, 25-7 and 25-9 in falling to 1-7 on the season.

Colo-NESCO had 16 kills and 10 attack errors with a 9.7-percent kill efficiency rate. The Royals totaled 18 digs and four blocks and were 20 of 22 serving with one ace.

Jenna Hill had nine kills and one block, dig and ace apiece and Izabell Voelker handed out 11 assists and added four digs for the Royals. Ayvarie Bappe finished with four kills and three digs, McKenzie Niemeyer five digs and three kills, Megan Hulshizer three digs and Molly Seyller two digs.

COLO - Colo-NESCO picked up its first victory of the season with a sweep over Martensdale St. Marys on senior night.

The Royals swept the Blue Devils by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-12. They recorded a huge 35-percent to minus-13.5 percent advantage in kill-efficiency over the Blue Devils, picking up 28 kills and only seven errors in 60 attacks.

Colo-NESCO also recorded a huge 19-4 edge in ace serves and a 7-2 advantage in blocks.

Jenna Hill and McKenzie Niemeyer had eight kills apiece, Ayvarie Bappe finished with five and Mary Bower recorded four for the Royals. Hill also had three blocks and four aces, Niemeyer six aces and one block, Bappe four digs, one block and one ace and Bower five assists and one dig.

Izabell Voelker finished with 24 assists, five aces, three digs and one kill at setter. Megan Hulshizer tallied five digs, two aces and one kill; Molly Seyller one dig and ace apiece and Sophia Pizali one kill.
