Six Norse make all-district in football

Senior wide receiver Adam McIlrath was one of three first-time all-district football selections from Roland-Story in Class 2A District 3 this season. McIlrath caught 17 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns in district games.

The Roland-Story football team had six players receive all-Class 2A District 3 recognition in 2020.

Senior wide receiver Adam McIlrath, senior offensive lineman David Downs and senior defensive lineman Jimmy Philipsen all made the all-district first team. Seniors Kole Knutson and Jackson Sterle and junior Quin Ante were named honorable mention.

McIlrath made 17 receptions for 281 yards and four touchdowns. Downs was a stout blocker that anchored the offensive line and Philipsen was a force on defense with seven tackles for loss.

Knutson made 14 tackles and a fumble recovery and Sterle led Roland-Story with 30 tackles on defense. Ante stepped in at quarterback in the middle of the year and threw for 532 yards and four touchdowns.

Roland-Story also had seven players receive all-district academic honors. Those players were: McIlrath, Sterle, Ante, seniors Zach Twedt and Dawson Chelsvig  and juniors Will Bunn and Cade Diehl.
