Eight Roland-Story football players make all-2A District 7 team: Three named honorable mention

Roland-Story's Jonovan Wilkinson made the 2A District 7 first team in football for the 2021 season.

The Roland-Story football totaled 11 all-district selections in Class 2A District 7 for the 2021 season.

Roland-Story had eight players make the all-district team. Five Norse were chosen on offense and three on defense.

Three Roland-Story players were named honorable mention after the Norse placed fourth in the district with a 2-3 record.

The five players to make all-district on offense were senior quarterback Quin Ante, senior receiver Will Bunn, junior receivers Carter Flattebo and Kale Lande and sophomore kick returner Jonovan Wilkinson.

Ante completed 81 of 142 passes for 1,410 yards and 15 touchdowns with five interceptions during district play. Bunn made 29 receptions for 733 yards and eight touchdowns, Flattebo 19 for 287 and two scores and Lande 14 for 161 and two touchdowns.

Wilkinson averaged 25.8 yards and scored one touchdown on nine kick returns.

The other all-district selections on offense were: West Marshall's Sam Schaper, Zach Chaplin, Preston Pope, Parker Reese, Iowa Falls-Alden's Cam Stalzer, Ivan Orozco, Jaden Damiano and Kacen Boyer, Prairie City-Monroe's Ayden Camu, Aiden Anderson and Carson Vandelune, Chariton's Sam Primakov and Albia's Wyatt Beckwith.

Pope was named the 2A District 7 Offensive MVP. Schaper was named the Lineman MVP.

The three Norsemen to make all-defense and kicker were senior defensive lineman Colin Hansen, linebacker Tyler Isebrands and defensive back Hesston Johnson. Hansen had 19.5 tackles and three stops behind the line, Isebrands 38.5 tackles and Johnson 35 tackles and one interception in district player.

The rest of the all-district picks on defense and punter were: West Marshall's Austin Pfantz, Austin McKinney, Caden Vellinga, Seth Larsen and Joey Tollefson; IFA's Gavin Cutler, Gabe Hadwiger, Blake Janssen and Andrew Bicknese; PCM's Donovan Nickelson, Gavin Fenton, Tyler Kuecker and Durant Van Dyke; Chariton's Ryder McGee and Jayden Allen Winston and Albia's Justin Keller.

Janssen was named Defensive MVP. West Marshall head coach Cody Hackett was named Coach of the Year.

The three Roland-Story players named honorable mention were defensive linemen Luke Patton and Logan Schnurr and linebacker Christian Eslick. Patton tallied 19.5 tackles and two sacks, Schnurr 15.5 tackles and Eslick 23 tackles.
