Larson, Risdal named to All-Conference Team

The Roland-Story JV boys’ golf team competed Friday, April 27, in Jewell, in a JV Triangular with South Hamilton and Gilbert.

“It was a very windy day, with winds out of the north 30-35 mph,” said Coach Mike Risdal. The R-S JV won the event with a team score of 197, South Hamilton 212, and Gilbert 219. Landon Greiner and Derek Hartzler tied for Medalist with a 45, Logan Lykins 50, Luke Jones 52, Steven Berends 53, Austin Hobbs 54, Braydon Flattebo 56, Gabe Nady 56, Grant Berends 57, Adam Spence 60, Eli Ruben 61, Joe Hovick 62, Isaiah Bates 62, Ethan Nady 66 and Daniel Conis 67.

The R-S boys’ Varsity competed in the HOIC Conference Meet on May 1 at the TCI course in Polk City. Eight teams competed in the Conference Meet. Neveda won the Conference meet with a score of 318, PCM second with a score of 321, and Roland-Story placed third with a score of 333. Will Larson led the team and tied for third overall with a 78, Tyler Risdal tied for 10th with an 81, both were on the All-Conference Team. Carson Ehrenberg 87, Nick Stole 87, Max Halstead 91 and Mitch Shorkey 111.

The R-S Varsity and JV competed in Gilbert on May 4 at the Ames Golf and Country Club. The Norsemen Varsity won the event with a team score of 160, Gilbert 163. Tyler Risdal was runner up medalist with a 37, Will Larson third with a 38, Max Halstead 41, Nick Stole 44, Carson Ehrenberg 46 and Mitch Shorkey 51. The Norsemen JV also won with a team score of 198, Gilbert 255. Landon Greiner was the JV medalist with a score of 43, Braydon Flattebo 48, Grant Berends 53, Derek Hartzler 54, Joe Hovick 56, Steven Berends 61, Isaiah Bates 55, Luke Jones 47 and Daniel Conis 47.
