The Roland-Story girls’ golf team shot 381 in its 18-hole round Friday, April 27, to take top honors at the Norsemen Invite, besting Greene County (404).

Kaitlyn Rahfeldt was runner-up with her round of 92. Susie Weaver carded 94 while Allisyn Coghlan and Alayna Ringsby shot rounds of 97 and 98, respectively. Claire Wiseman and Sydney Weaver each shot 103. Roland-Story’s girls’ golf team placed fifth at the Heart of Iowa Conference tournament on Tuesday, May 1, in Jeffe

“I can see them across the course, wave and just joke around with them and talk to them,” Gilbert senior Kate Jenkins said. “I’m a lot looser and more positive. I rarely get down on myself. If I hit a bad shot, I’m like, ‘Oh well, next shot.’”Gilbert placed first with 336, followed by Greene County 390, PCM 392, South Hamilton 399, Roland-Story 401, Nevada 431, and North Polk 431.

“This group of girls, being around them, they’re very tight knit,” Gilbert assistant coach Tigh Bakker said. “They seem to get along great. I think that goes big for them and helps them stay stress free. It seems like they can handle anything together.”Roland-Story’s Kaitlyn Rahfeldt was ninth with a 94. Susie Weaver shot a 100, Sydney Weaver 103, Claire Wiseman 104, Allisyn Coghlan 105, and Alayna Ringsby 108.
