The Roland-Story Norsemen Varsity hosted the Hawk-Norse Invite on Monday, May 7, at River Bend Golf Course in Story City.

“It was a perfect day, 75 degrees and light winds,” said Coach Mike Risdal. “There were six teams that participated in the tournament. R-S won the event with a school record round of 317, PCM second with a 332 and South Hamilton third with a 352, North Polk 359, Green County 371, and Saydel 387.”

Medalist was Tyler Risdal with a 75, Will Larson tied for runner up with a 78, Carson Ehrenberg 79, Landon Greiner 85, Max Halstead 88 and Nick Stole 89. The team played great and are peaking at the right time with sectionals just a few days away.

The Roland-Story Norsemen Varsity participated in the 2A Sectional tournament in Parkersburg on May 11.

“The weather was much different from Monday, 52 degrees, rainy and windy,” Risdal said.

Eight teams participated in the tournament. R-S won the event matching the score shot on Monday, 317, Dike-New Hartford placed second with a 321.

Tyler Risdal was runner up Medalist with a 75, Will Larson was third with a 76, Carson Ehrenberg 83, Max Halstead 83, Nick Stole 86 and Landon Greiner 86. It’s one thing to shoot a 317 on a perfect day and at home, but to play away in these conditions and match the score is simply special. Next step is the District Tournament at Fox Ridge in Dike on Friday, May 18.
