R-S’s Rahfeldt moves on to regional finals
STATE CENTER — Roland-Story’s Kate Rahfeldt is moving on to the regional finals after a runner-up finish at the Class 2A regional first-round girls’ golf meet May 13 at the Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center.
Rahfeldt shot a 90 over 18 holes, with nine-hole rounds of 46 and 44, to automatically advance to the next round. She beat Columbus Catholic’s Molly Fereday and Margaret Harn, and South Hamilton’s Courtney Harris all by one stroke for second behind Dike-New Hartford’s Morgan Weber, who dominated the meet with a 72.
All five golfers qualified for the regional second round individually. South Hamilton’s Krista Swenson also advanced after carding a 93.
As a team, Roland-Story shot a 398 to place fourth out of eight teams. Dike-New Hartford and South Hamilton were the two teams to move on to the next round after turning in scores of 370 and 386, and Columbus Catholic came in third with a 387.
Alayna Ringsby carded a 101 with rounds of 51 and 50, Claire Wiseman shot a 103 with 51 out and 52 in and Sydney Weaver a 104 with two rounds of 52 as the other golfers to turn in a counted score for Roland-Story. Tori Fournier shot a 105 with rounds of 52 and 53 and Allisyn Coghlan a 114 with a 60 out and 54 in as the other varsity competitors for the Norse.
